Scientific activities

The department was established in February 2004. The mission of the department is to teach the language of architecture because it is essential to design buildings and understand architecture. The best way to learn this language is to study the colourful history of architecture and wander among thousand-year-old European cultural masterpieces. To understand the everyday language of architecture is also very important to know how cities are born. The Department of Urbanism and Architectural History shows variable ways to study two 5-year basic studies. Its educational activity includes the training of architects to obtain a BSc, 5- year architects training, municipal engineers to obtain a MSc, civil engineers to obtain a BSc, and environment engineers to obtain a BSc. The research activity of the department is widespread, from the reconstruction of historic towns to contemporary architecture.
